For many folks, starting therapy can feel overwhelming and intimidating. I believe that everyone has the capacity for healing, and just like any other skill, healing must be learned, one step at a time. As a trauma survivor and recovering addict, I have first-hand experience, living with the impact that trauma has on survivors and their families. My goal as a trauma-focused, healing-centered therapist is to create a welcoming, comfortable and safe environment to do the work of healing. Like trauma itself, every client is unique, and no single modality works for everyone. I utilize Internal Family Systems (IFS) approach to therapy, and I am fully trained in several modalities, including Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Repossessing (EMDR), Motivational Interviewing, and Trust-Based Relational Interventions (TBRI). While I enjoy working with all ages and populations, I am passionate about working with adult survivors of domestic and intimate partner violence, childhood trauma and substance use disorder. I work collaboratively with clients to address the underlying issues that have contributed to traumatic experiences, providing guidance, education, tools and support to assist clients on their journey of recovery.
